NERIWALM Recruitment 2026 Eligibility
Essential Qualification
Candidates must:
- Be citizens of India.
- Be retired Senior Engineers who held the post of Chief Engineer, Additional Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer or equivalent at the time of retirement.
- Have served in the State Government of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram or Tripura.
- Not be more than 64 years of age on the last date of receipt of application.
Desirable Experience
Experience in irrigation development and/or water resource management in the concerned state will be desirable.
Tenure
The engagement will initially be for up to one year.
The engagement may be extended based on the candidate’s contribution and the requirements of NERIWALM.
- Maximum normal duration: 3 years
- Extension by one additional year may be allowed in exceptional cases.
- Total engagement period cannot exceed 4 years under any circumstances.
Duties and Responsibilities of NERIWALM Recruitment 2026
The Professor of Practice will be involved in:
- Teaching, lectures, seminars and workshops on water management and infrastructure planning.
- Mentoring students and junior faculty.
- Research collaboration on practical water and land management issues.
- Field engagement with authorities, communities and stakeholders.
- Providing expert inputs for policy and governance.
- Advising on flood control, irrigation, soil conservation and other water and land management projects.
Remuneration
Selected candidates will receive:
- Honorarium: ₹3,000 per Duty Day
- Maximum monthly ceiling: ₹51,000
- HRA: Not admissible
- Dearness Allowance: Not admissible
- Increment: No annual increment during the contract
- Transport Allowance: As per the applicable provisions mentioned in the Office Memorandum
- TA/DA on Tour: Equivalent to Level-13 officers of NERIWALM
Duty Days
The Professor of Practice will be stationed in their respective state. NERIWALM will allot specific assignments/projects, and the actual period spent performing the assigned duties will be counted as Duty Days for remuneration and related purposes.
