Vacancy Details of MHRB Assam Recruitment 2026
1. Medical & Health Officer-I (M&HO-I)
No. of Posts: 560 Posts
Pay Scale: Rs. 30,000/- – Rs. 1,10,000/- + Grade Pay Rs. 12,700/- and other applicable allowances.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 38 years of age as on 1st January 2026. Age relaxation will be applicable to reserved categories as per Government rules.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have an MBBS Degree from a recognised university and must be registered under the Assam Medical Council.
Doctors working under DME, DHS, NHM Assam and other Government agencies under the Government of Assam are also eligible to apply. No separate NOC is required at the time of application.
2. Registrar / Demonstrator / Resident Physician & Others
No. of Posts: 599 Posts
Pay Scale: Rs. 57,700/- – Rs. 1,82,400/- per month, Academic Level 10, plus applicable allowances.
Age Limit: Candidates should be between 21 and 45 years of age as on 1st January 2026. For Persons with Disabilities (PwD), the upper age limit is relaxable by 10 years as per the applicable Government notification.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must possess the required Post Graduate qualification in the concerned specialty.
For broad speciality departments, qualifications such as MD/MS/DNB in the relevant subject are required. The recruitment covers departments including Anaesthesiology, Dermatology, ENT, Emergency Medicine, Medicine, Microbiology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, O&G, Pathology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Radiodiagnosis, Surgery, Community Medicine and other listed specialties.
For certain departments such as Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology, the prescribed combinations of postgraduate qualification with PhD are required.
For medical super-specialities, the prescribed MD/DNB in General Medicine or MS/DNB in General Surgery qualification is required, depending on the specialty.
Candidates possessing DM, M.Ch. or DNB in the concerned super-speciality will be given preference/weightage.
