As CM Himanta Biswa Sharma announced that this year posts from the medical department and the Education department will also be included in ADRE 3.0, the no of posts will be increased automatically.
Comparison with ADRE 1.0, ADRE 2.0 and ADRE 3.0
The Assam Direct Recruitment process has already gone through two major editions.
ADRE 1.0 2022
For the first time, Assam Direct Recruitment was conducted in 2022 with a large no of Grade III and Grade IV vacancies. The recruitment covered a total of 26,441 posts.

ADRE 3.0
ADRE 3.0 is the upcoming third edition of the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination
The detailed notification is awaited, and therefore the final post-wise vacancy distribution, application dates, age cut-off, examination pattern and other conditions cannot yet be treated as confirmed.
Earlier, Hon’ble CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said the official Notification will be released before September 2026. But now the Official Notification will be released in 2027.
Expected Posts in ADRE 3.0
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has indicated that the upcoming ADRE 3.0 recruitment drive is expected to include vacancies from additional sectors, including the Education and Health Medical departments.
The move could significantly expand the scope of the upcoming recruitment drive, as the Assam Government is working towards its broader target of providing around 2 lakh government appointments.
The expected recruitment is likely to include posts from categories such as:
Grade III
- Graduate-level posts
- HSSLC-level posts
- HSLC-level/technical posts

Grade IV
- Class VIII-level posts

Assam Direct Recruitment 2027
Since the official ADRE 3.0 notification is still awaited, candidates should consider the following as expected requirements based on previous ADRE recruitment rules, not final eligibility criteria.
Educational Qualification
The required educational qualification is expected to vary according to the post.
Previous ADRE recruitment included:
Grade III
- Bachelor’s Degree for graduate-level posts
- HSSLC/Class 12 for certain posts
- HSLC for specific posts
- Additional computer/technical qualifications for certain posts
Grade IV
- Class VIII
