Eligibility criteria for Tea Tribe Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

• All the applicants must be permanent residents of Assam.
• They must be students who belong to the tea tribe.
• All have their legal and original documents.
• Only the Tea Garden Students will be allowed to fill out the online application form.
• Family income should be less than 5 lahks per annum.
• Candidates must possess a functional bank account.
• Candidates must possess a TGL/ EX-TGL caste certificate.

Eligible Classes

• Pre-Metric: Class 9 and Class 10
• Post-Metric: HS and TDC Courses

Selection Process of Tea Tribe Scholarship

The selection of the candidates will be made by following the stages discussed:

• The applications shall be verified by the respective SDWOs.
• After scrutiny, the list of eligible students is forwarded to the Director of Tea Tribes Welfare, Assam by respective SDWOs. In case of any doubt, the candidates may also be called for physical verification.
• The Director examines and consolidates the lists submitted by all SDWOs and places them before the Chairman of the State Level Advisory Committee (SLAC) for approval.
• In case an applicant’s document is found doubtful, the Director exercises the right to return the list to the concerned SDWOs for re-verification.

Steps to Form Fill-Up

• Again, scroll down to the Important links section.
• Click on login.
• Log in with your ID and Password.
• Now select the scheme.
• Fill in your basic details like your father’s name, and address.
• Then upload your documents.
• In the next step, upload your bank details.
• Now preview your application and submit it.

6. The first page of the applicant’s bank passbook.

Post-Metric Scholarship Documents

1. Original copy of Birth Certificate/HSLC Admit/HSLC Pass Certificate as age proof.
2. Copy of Mark-sheet of the last examination passed to be uploaded.
3. Admission fee receipt of the course undergoing/Recommendation from Principal.
4. Undertaking on family income as per attached format.
5. Original copy of caste certificate.
6. The first page of the applicant’s bank passbook.
