SAMARTH Admission Portal: To enhance the efficiency of undergraduate admissions across Higher Education Institutes in Assam, the Assam Government introduced SAMARTH, a centralised online admission portal starting from the academic year 2023-2024. SAMARTH Admission Portal supports the online admission procedures for BA, BCOM, BSC and other undergraduate programmes in accordance with the New Education Policy 2020 in Assam.
SAMARTH is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Education in 2019 under the National Mission om Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT-ll now NMEICT-lll). The objective is to empower universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) by establishing a digital framework for planning, management, delivery and monitoring of services for students, staff and stakeholders. As part of this project, HEIs receive a fully managed, cloud-based, comprehensive ERP system tailored specifically for the country’s higher education sector.

How to Apply in SAMARTH Admission Portal
Students who have appeared in or passed the HS Final Exam or equivalent are eligible to apply for admission in colleges and universities in Assam through the Samarth Online Online Admission Portal. It’s important to note that applications for admission must be submitted via the SAMARTH Portal, with actual admissions taking place offline at the respective colleges. Applicants should submit their applications online through SAMARTH, following these steps:-
- Step 1- Navigate to the Important Links section.
- Step 2- Click on the Online Application Link.
- Step 3- A new tab will open with the official web portal.
- Step 4- Register on the portal.
- Step 5- Fill in all required details.
- Step 6- Upload necessary documents.
- Step 7- Upon completion of these steps, your application will be submitted.
- Step 8- You will receive an acknowledgement copy of your submission.
- Step 9- Take out a print copy of your acknowledgement for future records.
