(Special Education) recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), but degrees obtained from off-campus and distance education institution shall not be considered as valid. |
Age Limit
A candidate must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years for unreserved category, 42 years for Ex- Servicemen, 43 years for OBC/MOBC and 45 years for SC/ST(P)/ST(H) and 50 years for Persons with Disability (PwD), as on 1stAugust, 2025.

- HSLC, HSSLC, Graduate Degree and Post Graduate Degree Mark-sheet and Pass Certificate.
- Any other Mark-sheet and Pass Certificate of Higher Education.
- Mark-sheet and Certificate of B.Ed. in Special Education.
- Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority.
- Candidates with disabilities will have to enclose certificates of disabilities issued by Govt. authority/ UDID Card issued by the competent authority.
- Certificate of NCC (B & C Category only).
- Certificate of recognized Sports at National Level representing the State of Assam.
- Certificate of Achievements in fine arts and cultural activities representing the state officially at National Level.
- Certificate of Ex-servicemen issued by the Director, Sainik Welfare Board.
- Work Experience Certificate (if any).
Criteria for Selection of Special Educators in Secondary School recruitment
(a) Teachers Eligibility Test cum Recruitment Test :
140 marks in the following paper:-
- Pedagogy – 50 marks;
- About Assam and its People – 35 marks;
- General Mathematics (10th Standard) – 15 Marks;
- General English – 30 marks;
- General Studies and Current Affairs – 10 marks)”.
(b) NCC / Sports / Fine Arts and Cultural Activities :
(i) 5 marks for NCC Certificates (5 marks for “C” Certificate and 3 marks for “B” Certificate)
Or
5 marks for participation in recognized sports at National Level representing Assam
Or
5 marks for achievements in Fine Arts and Cultural Activities representing the State officially at National Level.
(ii) Candidates who have passed the earlier High School TET and not been appointed till date shall get weightage @ 5% of the marks secured in the TET or maximum 5 marks for selection as a Graduate Teacher.
The number of qualified candidates in the TET cum Recruitment Test shall be in the ratio of 1:1 of the vacancies advertised.
